The
Neighbors. (1984-1990)
I played drums, sang some backup, and even wrote
a few numbers while with this band. Two LP's came out of this lineup; 'Famous
Potatoes' (1985) and 'Welcome Wagon' (1987). Last year, a Spanish Label,
'Bam Balam Records' released a compilation of the two, plus some unreleased
stuff, on a double CD called 'Power Pop Art'. If you'd like one of your
very own, send a message and
I'll see if I can get you a copy.
Of the other members, John Moremen, guitarist and songwriter extrodinaire, is in San Franciso where he just finished his debut EP release for Pop Static. Send John or his wife, Suzy, an e-mail message here for info on where to get your copy of "And the Sun Shines." (Image courtesy of Seemeen) |

Gilstrap, master tunesmith and engaging lyricist, has for the past few
years been writing for the Newtimes in Arizona. Now Pete's in L.A.,
writing for the Newtimes there. His old site was such a hit, they've
kept it updated. Click Pete's graphic to check out his award-winning
website. |
| Often referred to as the Fifth Neighbor, John Rowny, our manager at the time, is currently enjoying life to the fullest - his contribution to music and Cajun Dance ongoing. |
| As for Scott McKnight, bassest bassist, vocalist and writer for The Neighbors - his home studio, Extremely, Ltd. is doing just fine, thanks. Scott is playing guitar now with Kevin Johnson. Scott and I still play occasionally, in Scott's project. . . |

Kevin Johnson. From time to time, I've filled in on drums with Kevin Johnson and the Linemen. A truly gifted writer, Kevin's stuff goes right for the Country-fied Pop jugular. Keep your eyes on the charts for this guy. Meanwhile, Click on Kevin to check out his web site. |
The Grandsons. While I've never actually played with this band, Alan and Chris now and then provide an inspired horn section for Naughty Pine. For a riproarious good time, definitely see this band. In the meanwhile, click the pic to learn more. |

Landymore. Songs? You want songs? She's
got songs, and a new CD. And great web site with news on the local scene
from "Out
There Land". A champion
of the local artist, I met her on one of my few ventures into solo open
mike-dom. Take your compass when you click her pic. |

"Ray Modern" Atkinson. I've known this guy forever . . . he grew up down the street from me. He's one of the first musicians I ever played with - he's the first person I knew to copyright a song. And, as a truly 'modern' fellow - he's the first person I knew to put up his own web site. Click on his name to check out Ray! Or, click the keyboard for his "Soundbites ". |
